He Says She Says down by the White House
Back to Full Blog

Opponents of George Bush -- a.k.a. democrats -- consistently make claims about republicans being totalitarian, or at least authoritarian, and even out to hurt the American people. This couldn't be further from the truth. Why do they make such claims? Here's 5 reasons:

1)War.

They say: The president is warring with other countries, and it is wastefully ending the lives of (a small number of) soldiers.

I say: Bush may be wrong, but he believes with all his heart that he is doing the right thing. I support his decisions concerning our global security.

2)The Press.

They say: Any restrictions implied on the press are unconstitutional.

I say: The press shouldn't have the right to publicize anything that could put my life in potential mortal danger any more than they have the right to physically put my life in mortal danger, without penalty -- following due process of course.

3)Outsourcing.

They say: To hell with Big Corporation. Equal pay and mandatory jobs for all.

I say: Where in the Constitution does it say that you are guaranteed a job? Life is tough; it's a lot tougher everywhere else folks -- grow up!

4)Religion.

They say: The Right is trying to force their beliefs on the rest of us.

I say: If there is such a movement, then it has been a long time coming, and you started it when you took prayer out of school -- a time when kids could do things like walk down the street alone at night without having to worry. You still have the right not to participate in any event you find uncomfortable, like prayer or church, but you don't have the right to ask someone, in office or otherwise, to disregard their beliefs just so they won't offend someone. Our President is a professing Christian, just like 50 out of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence; therefore, he will do his best to make decisions as one (but will never be perfect). And good luck getting a married Atheist into the White House.

5)Gay Marriage.

They say: Free country.

I say: It's like white guys trying to join a black fraternity: Give me a break.

There are many who are against the war on the left and the right. There are many for the war on the left and right. To make the war a left/right issue has been a moronic idea from the beginning. It's about whether you think we went to war for this reason or that reason. But it comes down to, we have to leave that place in at least a good condition as we came in so that our reputation doesn't look like crap.

2.
Many things put your life in danger. News is the least of your problems. It's called living. As you would say: "Life is tough; it's a lot tougher everywhere else folks -- grow up!"

3.
"They say: To hell with Big Corporation. Equal pay and mandatory jobs for all."

I certainly don't. I say don't let big corporations tell the government what to do, if anyone is to tell the government what needs to be done it's the people. Also, I don't believe in equal pay for all. Paying everyone equally isn't just. But also, we all know that the government helping people get jobs helps everyone out in the community and as a whole. So yes I'm for helping people get jobs. I must be pretty evil to want to help people get jobs yep.

4.
Your logic basically comes down to "I'm in the majority, majority rules" scenario. You're pretty lucky you live in a country that accepts your viewpoint as the majority.

"If there is such a movement, then it has been a long time coming, and you started it when you took prayer out of school "

and

"And good luck getting a married Atheist into the White House."

So everyone else without your viewpoint is just shit out of luck when it comes to Rights eh? Great way of dealing with a variety of peoples. Once again you're lucky you live in a place where your viewpoint happens to agree with the majority.

I really wish though, that you could see that minorities of all types have viewpoints too and that they're just as equal as yours. People can exist together with different viewpoints. Look at men and women living together ;)

Gay Marriage is something the Republicans brought up. Ever heard of a "straw horse"? Where in the Democratic viewpoint does it say "gays need to get married as soon as possible"? Democrats tolerate people, Republicans shun them.

Imagine if you were a Christian Minority living in another country where it was custom to pray to a god other than your own daily in school. Everyday your kid was forced to do prayers to a god that they didn't believe in, nor did your family, because the government deemed it necessary. You probably would be mad that your kids were getting indoctrinated by that country's majority's religion right? You want your kids to grow up believing what you teach them right? Well it's the same type thing.

PART 1
2)If the news can be viewed by terrorists, it should not reveal anything that threatens our national security.
3)It's not evil to want to help people keep their jobs, it's just not a good economic plan for the business owners.
4)What do you care about minority? Democrats are in favor of majority rules, right?
5)Republicans just have standards that they wish Democrats could live up to. Democrats do tolerate people -- everyone except Republicans.
PART 2
If you're talking about Iran, then "mad" would not be the appropriate emotion, but probably "scared" would be because over there they'd kill me if I left Islam. The Freedom of Religion protects your right to worship God without having to belong to any particular denomination, or to be any other religion without being killed. Period. If I wanted my kids to grow up with Christian values and teachings, I'd move the fam' back to America where the people put their trust in God just like my forefathers did.

In this country we are free to go into business for ourselves and our income potential is not limited. The more products you move, the more money you make. If your house is in a 3rd world neighborhood, then move. Your life is no one's responsibility but your own. Stop blaming Bush -- or anyone for that matter.
